I’m a mother, artist, and Buddhist based in the Hudson Valley. My journey into birth work began long before I received formal training – rooted in personal experiences with pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss within my own family from an early age. However, it was my own labor, supported by a doula during a high-risk pregnancy, that solidified my path. She provided me with evidence-based information while guiding me through HypnoBirthing techniques – breath work, meditation, visualization, and movement – that helped me prepare for birth and stay grounded throughout labor. That experience allowed me to approach birth with deep trust in my mind and body, and ultimately inspired me to support others in the same way.
With a background in the arts and 15 years as a practicing Buddhist, I bring a unique blend of creativity, mindfulness, and grounded presence to my work. My experience with shamatha (calm abiding) and vipassana (insight) meditation deeply informs how I support clients – using breath work, visualization, and meditation to cultivate calm, clarity, and adaptability throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. I see birth as both a practical and transformational process, one that benefits from thoughtful preparation and the ability to meet each moment with flexibility and trust.
I completed my training with Doula Trainings International. I provide care for all families, including first-time parents, VBAC clients, high-risk pregnancies, and those experiencing loss. No matter the circumstances, I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental space where every birthing person feels seen, heard, and supported.
